Career Exploration Workshop

Keys of Solace is a non-profit that integrates the two- Generation approach when providing counseling services to Baltimorean youth and young adults. This summer they have held a sessions on empowering youth, self confidence and the last of the sessions of the series focus on career paths and goal setting. The day will start off with a Q&A of how you started in your career, adversities you have faced along the way and what advice for setting goals you have for the youth of Baltimore. We will do a fun Architectural ice breaker with the students (middle school to high school ages) to introduce them to the field and interviews/resume building at the end of the day. This will be a jammed packed session with other organizations including Civic Works, Living Classrooms, and various other students with unique career paths. We hope to see you there!

Volunteers Needed: 6-7

11am-1pm (volunteers to help with gumdrop activity and participate in Self Discovery group discussion)

1pm-3pm (volunteers to help with telling their personal journey in the field, what adversities they have faced, etc. and mock interviews/resume building)

Task:

Create a NOMA brochure/signage for photos with children & volunteers

Be a panelist for the event/help with resume and interview the day of the event

Teach the course to the children for the day of the event

Doing a mock design challenge for the children to follow
