About The Event
The National Organization of Minority Architect has created a summer STEM program entitled, Project Pipeline Architectural Summer Camp. Project Pipeline serves, in part, as NOMA’s solution to increasing the number of underrepresented minorities, especially African-Americans, pursuing careers in architecture. Thus, Project Pipeline begins exposing these groups to architecture and the built environment as early as 3rd grade, and continues the STEM exposure through student and intern membership categories.
The program is a STEM pipeline designed to expose underrepresented children to the built environment and architectural profession as early as the third grade and through the twelfth grade. In addition, this exposure will be provided by utilizing NOMA members, who are, professionals and college interns. NOMA’s Project Pipeline is one of the few initiatives in the nation connecting children and architecture. Our first year of pipeline will be a two-day summer camp.
