The mission of the Baltimore Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (BmoreNOMA) is to champion diversity and exposure of men and women of color within the design professions by promoting the excellence, community engagement, and professional development of its members. We do this by hosting educational and professional development programming that gives our members access to current architecture and design practices. In addition, we turn that knowledge into community investment by using our abilities to impact change in the greater Baltimore area.

It is the support of our partners that enables us to implement our initiatives. Bmore NOMA appreciates any and all contributions that can be used to make an impact on the architecture industry.

We rely on the support of our chapter partners to maintain ongoing functionality and to offset the costs associated with planning our calendar events. Event Sponsorship

Event sponsorships are directly associated with events or initiatives throughout the year. Funding covers the cost of event materials, providing refreshments for participants, and reserving event venues as required. Event sponsors will have the opportunity to highlight their business on Bmore NOMA event material, distribute informational/promotional materials to attendees, and share their support of the Bmore NOMA mission. Corporate logos will be included for all Partner and above levels on all promotional materials used to advertise the event. To inquire about event sponsorships, contact nomabaltimore@gmail.com.

  1. Professional Development Events

    • Professional development events support the growth of our membership by providing educational opportunities on current industry trends. Such events address topics from sustainability in design to business development and practice management. Bmore NOMA also seeks to increase the number of architects of color in the greater Baltimore area by providing workshops on licensure and the Architecture Registration Examination. In addition, such events include networking opportunities for architects and designers that serve as opportunities to highlight these design professionals and to partner with other design organizations in the city.

  2. Community Engagement Events

    • Through community programming and service,  Bmore NOMA exposes Baltimore youth and communities of color to the impact of design. Community engagement events provide members with an opportunity to serve their communities through programming such as Baltimore Architecture Month workshops, pro bono design services, and Project Pipeline, a national NOMA program that provides students with a platform to discuss, analyze, and interpret the impact of design, art, and architecture in the built environment through focused curriculum and creative outcomes.

Future Architects

Bmore NOMA aims to address the lack of diversity of the architecture profession by investing in the education of future architects. As a supporter of one of Bmore NOMA’s scholarship programs, sponsors will be recognized as presenting partners to awarded students and highlighted on the Bmore NOMA website and membership newsletter. To inquire about supporting a scholarship, contact nomabaltimore@gmail.com.

  1. NOMAS Membership Sponsor - This sponsorship covers the cost of membership for student members of NOMA (NOMAS)

  2. Morgan State NOMAS Sponsor - Bmore NOMA supports the local NOMAS chapter at Morgan State through various time and financial commitments. Supporting the NOMAS chapter strengthens the pipeline that turns Morgan graduates into licensed architects and strong voices in the design community.
