About The Event
This course provides an in-depth examination of how Porosity Inhibiting Admixtures (PIA’s) waterproof and extend the life cycle of concrete structures.
It will also cover how PIA’s qualify as sustainable, assist in reducing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions, reduce cost, and accelerate application schedules for products applied to concrete, which trims weeks from commercial project schedules. This course will also discuss benefits for building owners, structural engineers, concrete ready- mix producers, architects, general contractors, and subcontractors.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the adverse financial and schedule ramifications of new concrete slabs not achieving the specified moisture testing requirements.
- Identify the five main sources of concrete moisture.
- Understand the differences between curing & drying.
- Understand the differences between porous and non-porous concrete slab applications.
- Understand that Porosity Inhibiting Admixtures meet and/or exceed the six qualifying factors of sustainability: climate change, environmental, innovation, technology, people, and ethics.
- Understand how Porosity Inhibitors assist in reducing Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions while extending the lifespan of concrete.
- Understand how the physical properties provided by Porosity Inhibiting Admixtures integrally waterproof concrete.
