In light of recent guidance from the Department of Education threatening to penalize race-conscious scholarships and programming, many student organizations — including NOMAS (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students) — are at risk of losing critical funding.

​

Our NOMAS chapters at the University of Maryland and Morgan State University are already bracing for budget cuts. This new policy could reduce their support to zero — just when students need it most.

​

NOMAS is more than a student group. It's a launching pad for future leaders in architecture, a safe space for underrepresented voices, and a critical support system for students of color navigating this profession.

​

Every year, attending the annual NOMA conference is a transformative opportunity for these students — a chance to network, be inspired, and connect with a broader community of professionals and peers. Without financial support, many won’t be able to attend.

We’ve created this dedicated contribution page so that firms, alumni, and allies like you can directly support NOMAS students at UMD and Morgan State.
