

NOMA Conference Scholarship
The NOMA Conference Scholarship helps remove financial barriers for one deserving student to attend the annual NOMA Conference. The scholarship may be used toward conference registration, travel, and lodging, providing access to networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities while supporting the next generation of leaders in architecture and design.
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP
The NOMA Conference Scholarship provides financial support to a deserving student who exemplifies the mission and values of the National Organization of Minority Architects, helping reduce barriers to attending the annual NOMA Conference. The conference brings together students, educators, and professionals from across the country for workshops, lectures, portfolio reviews, networking events, and discussions focused on equity and leadership in the built environment. Attending offers students’ valuable exposure to the architectural community while helping them build meaningful connections and confidence to support their academic and professional growth.
This scholarship can be used for conference registration, travel, and/or lodging expenses, this scholarship opens the door for one student to participate in this impactful experience. Beyond funding, the award reflects our chapter’s commitment to representation, mentorship, and creating pathways for students to grow as leaders and advocates within the design profession.
2026 Conference dates are October 14th - October 18th.
SCHOLARSHIP INFO
AWARD AMOUNT
Financial support covering:

Conference registration at the student member rate

Airfare
-
Lodging expenses for up to 3 nights at the conference hotel

Bmore NOMA is responsible for paying conference registration at the student member rate and airfare at the time of receiving the scholarship. Lodging must be paid up front by the student and provide official documentation of payment for reimbursement from Bmore NOMA for up to 3 days of lodging

ELIGIBILITY cRITERIA
Applicants must:

Must be a currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an institution in the state of Maryland majoring in architecture, interior design, urban planning, Landscape architecture, or similar field.

Must be an active student member of NOMA at the time of application
-
Participated/ Volunteered in 2 - 3 Bmore NOMA Events &/or NOMAS Chapter events within the last year

Review Process
Applications will be reviewed by individuals designated by the Bmore NOMA Board of Directors. Selections will be based on commitment to NOMA mission, leadership or community involvement, quality of essay responses, and overall potential to benefit from the conference.
