Description: On October 6 & 7, the Baltimore Architecture Foundation, in partnership with AIA Baltimore, will present the fifth annual Doors Open Baltimore—a free citywide celebration of Baltimore’s architecture and neighborhoods. Over 60 buildings across the city will be open to explore as open houses and over 30 free guided tours and activities will be available. NOMA will hold a table with interactive maps and a special event activity. We are designing a deconstructed model using a special kit of parts giving participants the design challenge of “How do you solve the vacant blocks in Baltimore city?” Essentially, it will be the Sims in real life! Orchard Street is giving tours on a 1hr basis. While guest come in, we will capture the demographics of each participant in the event. The participants will display what part of the city they come from and what change they would like to see in their community(i.e. community centers, parks, bank, civic centers, etc). This will be a big event we hope to see you there!
